Parks & Recreation
Shelton
residents have many types of City-run athletic and cultural programs available.
The City organizes and runs: sports programs, league activities, arts
and craft programs, a year round swimming program and various recreational
activities throughout the year. Over 8,000 weekly participants take part
in our spring outdoor recreation programs, while 3,500 adults and children
play weekly in our fall programs. Sports such as baseball, softball, soccer,
basketball, football and cheerleading are available at several age levels.
Winter months find over 2,000 residents participating in our indoor gym
program that includes volleyball and basketball.
Six parks with over 150 acres of developed
land provide tennis and basketball courts, athletic fields, picnic areas,
fishing and boating. There are also two private golf courses and 153 acre
